Before working with Nick, I was mainly just going out for runs on my own and taking classes at a gym to try to get back into a workout routine and trying to find the motivation to workout that I had had before having children. Even if I would start to go regularly for a few weeks, I jumped on every excuse to skip these and I never saw improvement with my fitness or endurance, I just felt like I’d hit a wall, mentally and physically that I couldn’t get myself around. I was running the same distance every time and it never seemed to get easier or feel better.

I definitely recommend working with Nick. When I came to Nick it was by chance, I was speaking to a friend who knew of him and merely said that he posted exercises on Instagram that might help me, especially with diastasis recti. Somehow, I just felt like I really need someone else to hold me accountable to sticking with my goals because I wasn’t doing a very good job on my own, and honestly, I didn’t really know what kind of workouts I should have been focusing on.

I came to Nick with what I thought was a very simple thing that I wanted to improve, my diastasis recti and core – but very quickly I realized there was so much more that I actually wanted to improve that he could help me with, this simple thing was merely a result of the deeper changes I discovered I was in need of. Our check-ins were more than just checking in on workouts, they were actually therapeutic and I found myself bringing up a lot of the barriers that I had never really recognized before or said out loud.

I had never worked with any kind of personal trainer before, I’d always been an athlete and thought I knew enough from my own sports trainings to take care of myself, but working with Nick was an eye opener.

My goals ended up evolving as I was working with Nick, because I started learning more and more about my body and how I wanted to feel and how the bad habits I had were making feel. In the end, my goals were to feel more comfortable in my body and to break through this fitness wall I’d felt I’d been hitting and I achieved both of those. I did drop weight, but more importantly my body is more toned and I actually received multiple comments about this that I hadn’t been expecting. I also still play sports recreationally and it’s amazing what I’ve been able to do this season compared to a year ago when I was much more passive on the field.

I got way more out of this program than I thought I would. I honestly thought I was signing up for weekly workouts and someone yelling at me if I didn’t do them, and I got a whole life-changing perspective. It definitely lifted me out of this fitness hole I had dug for myself, which was weighing on me mentally and physically. I appreciate your approach, that I never felt pressured to do anything I wasn’t comfortable with, but I was definitely challenged to change things that I addressed I wanted to change. Can’t thank you enough!! I am already singing your praises, and I will be back – probably when those winter and holiday snacks and meals come around 😉 But I really enjoyed working with you and appreciated the mental hype ups and that I could give you a quick shout when I was psyching myself out at the track!

My motivation for working with Trubee Health was to actually make progress in fitness.  I had struggled with lack of consistency and having a clear, unified plan for my goals.  It was typical for me to start a program with excitement, then lose enthusiasm, and then quit the program. 

My goal was to move forward with better fitness, namely improving mobility, muscle mass, body fat composition, and overall mental wellness.  I was able to achieve that.

I liked that Nick asked me what I liked doing and made changes to the routine based on that.  There was a period of time when I was doing more mobility work than I would have preferred, and after a period of base-building we were able to make changes to something that was more fun for me, which helped me to stick with it.

Nick’s approach of making small, sustainable changes on a daily basis, and then being consistent with those changes, is not only sustainable, but effective!
